Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

SwiftShare is a file transfer service operated by Dozy. We help you send large files quickly and securely. You can reach us at support@dozy.site.

2. What Information We Collect

Account information — When you sign up, we collect your email address. Your password is never stored in plain text; it is managed securely by our authentication provider (Supabase).

Uploaded files — Files you upload are stored on secure cloud servers for the duration of the transfer (from 1 to 30 days, as selected by you). Files are automatically and permanently deleted when the transfer expires or when you delete them manually.

Transfer metadata — We store metadata associated with each transfer: file names, file sizes, MIME types, expiry date, an optional transfer name, and an optional password hash. This is used to deliver the file to the recipient.

Download events — When someone downloads a file from your transfer, we record basic technical information about their device and browser session. This includes: browser name, operating system, device type (desktop/mobile/tablet), device name (e.g. "iPhone 15 series", "Samsung Galaxy S24", "Mac (macOS 14.4)"), screen resolution, browser language, timezone, and HTTP referrer. We also perform an IP-based geolocation lookup via a third-party service (ipapi.co) to approximate the downloader's city and country — no precise GPS location is collected. This information is visible only to you as the file owner and is permanently deleted when the transfer is deleted.

Usage data — We track how much storage you have used to enforce plan limits. We do not track your browsing behaviour beyond what is necessary to operate the service.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To store and deliver your files to the intended recipient

• To show you your transfer history and storage usage

• To enforce expiry, storage limits, and plan restrictions

• To show you who downloaded your files (device stats)

• To detect abuse or unauthorised access

4. Who Can See Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party. The only exception is the recipient of your transfer — they can access the file and its name as you intended. They cannot see your account details, email, or any other personal information beyond what the file itself contains.

Download event data (device info collected when a recipient downloads your file) is shared with you — the file owner only. It is never shared with the downloader or any outside party.

We use Supabase as our infrastructure provider for authentication, database storage, and file storage. Supabase processes data on our behalf under appropriate data processing agreements and does not use your data independently.

When a file is downloaded, the downloader's IP address is sent to ipapi.co to obtain an approximate city and country for display in your download stats. This request is made directly from the downloader's browser. We do not store or log the raw IP address ourselves — only the resulting city and country strings are saved.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

• Files: Permanently deleted at transfer expiry or when you delete the transfer, whichever comes first.

• Download records: Permanently deleted when the associated transfer is deleted.

• Account data: Retained until you delete your account. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us.

6. Security

Files are stored with encryption at rest and transmitted over HTTPS. Transfers can be password-protected for an additional layer of access control. We implement industry-standard security practices, but no transmission over the internet is 100% guaranteed to be secure.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you

• Correct inaccurate data

• Delete your account and all associated data

• Object to certain processing activities

8. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser local storage solely for session management (keeping you signed in) and your personal preferences (such as your chosen theme). We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies.

9. Children's Privacy

SwiftShare is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of SwiftShare after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
