This page explains what happens when a Dozy account is terminated, whether by you voluntarily or by Dozy as a result of a policy violation or legal obligation. It also explains what data is deleted, how long deletion takes, and what cannot be recovered.
If you wish to permanently delete your Dozy account, you must submit a deletion request by emailing privacy@dozy.site from the email address associated with your account. At this time, account deletion is not available directly within the Dozy app. Once we receive and verify your request, we will process the deletion within a reasonable timeframe (we aim for 30 days however this does not guarantee anything).
Your email should be sent from your registered email address so that we can correctly identify your account.
Your email should include a clear statement that you wish to permanently delete your account.
Your email should include any relevant details, for example if you have active collaborations or a paid subscription, so that we can handle the deletion appropriately. No refund will be provided if the account termination is confirmed after our response email.
Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once your account is deleted, it cannot be reactivated, and no data associated with it can be recovered. You will need to create a new account if you wish to use Dozy again in the future.
When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed from Dozy's active database either immediately or within the processing window.
User profile data that is deleted includes your name, email, nickname, avatar, preferences, and OAuth tokens, and this is deleted immediately on deletion.
Task data that is deleted includes all tasks, their content, history, labels, and attachments, and this is deleted immediately on deletion.
Project data that is deleted includes all projects you own, including their tasks and resources, and this is deleted immediately on deletion.
Collaboration data that is deleted includes your membership in other users shared projects, and this membership is removed immediately on deletion.
Notification data that is deleted includes all in-app notifications linked to your account, and these notifications are deleted immediately on deletion.
Subscription record data that is deleted includes internal plan and status records stored by Dozy, and these records are deleted immediately on deletion.
Stored file data that is deleted includes your profile picture and any project resource files you uploaded, and these files are deleted immediately on deletion.
Database backup data consists of encrypted backups that may still contain your data, and these backups are purged within 30 days.
Stripe record data may be retained by Stripe as billing records independently in accordance with financial law, and this retention is governed by Stripe's own policy.
If you are the owner of a shared project, deleting your account will also delete that project and all of its contents, including tasks and files contributed by collaborators. Collaborators will lose access to the project and its data. We recommend notifying collaborators and exporting any relevant content before requesting deletion.
If you are a collaborator on someone else's project, deleting your account will remove you from that project. Content you contributed to the project, including tasks and files, may remain visible to the project owner unless they choose to delete it.
Dozy reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account at any time, without prior notice, in certain circumstances. These circumstances include violation of Dozy's Terms and Conditions.
These circumstances include activity that poses a security risk to the platform or other users.
These circumstances include legal obligations, such as compliance with court orders or law enforcement requests.
These circumstances include sustained abuse of platform resources.
In cases of termination by Dozy, no refund will be issued for any remaining paid subscription period, except where required by applicable law.
If Dozy receives a valid warrant or legally binding order from a law enforcement authority, we will comply with the disclosure requirements. This may affect your personal account data and, where relevant, shared project data contributed by other users if that data falls within the scope of the legal order. Dozy will only disclose the minimum data required to comply with such an order.
Once an account has been deleted and the 30 day backup retention window has passed, data recovery is not possible. Dozy does not maintain long term archives of deleted user data. If you believe your account was deleted in error, you should contact us as soon as possible at privacy@dozy.site, because recovery may only be possible within the backup retention window.
